The Blessings Already Are

The Blessings Already Are by John Morton

In this beautifully written book John Morton reminds us that we are already in the midst of God’s blessings. That’s a hard concept to grasp when we feel surrounded by chaos. Morton shows us how to align ourselves with God and enjoy peace within ourselves. Always doing everything in a loving way is the key. This isn’t easy, but with perseverance and dedication it is possible. We need always call to mind that we are one and what we do for each other we do for God and for ourselves.

As we raise the standards by which we live we have the responsibility to live up to these standards. Challenges from family and society will show up when we do this. keeping your agreement with God, no matter what others think, is business between God and you. God is always there to help us leave a situation better than we found it. This means we need to maintain our focus on seeking the highest good in every condition. “What if God’s big joke is to hide inside you and everything else in the world?”

Everything that happens is an opportunity to seek the Higher Good. We make these choices every day.

There’s an abundance of every day wisdom in this book. It is one worth reading over and over.

John Morton is Spiritual Director of Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness and has produced a variety of audio and videos works. For more information contact

A family book: Awakening the Blessings in each of us

This wonderful book has been a retreat for me to remind myself of the blessings in every moment of my life. My family, including my 2 young children, gather to read The Blessings Already Are together. The book brings us peace. It helps us to calm and refocus ourselves. Recently I saw my 10 year old reach for the book when she was upset and read one of the blessings. She looked up and smiled, much more at peace with herself. John has a magical way of awakening the place in each of us that is looking for the blessing, the good, the wonder in our lives. In this way it helps to heal the pains and hurts and encourages us to rejoice in the blessings of who we are. This book is a wonderful gift. It is a gift that is renewed each time it is opened. It is a gift to the Heart and the Soul.

“John has a gentle wisdom which he shares without pretense. It is something we can all partake of. It requires no special talent or understanding – just a willingness to feel good about life for a while. And, in the process learn something about ourselves and the Divinity which is an essential part of us.”

“John Morton is a simple man who speaks a simple truth. The other day, a schoolteacher commented to me, “I wish I could clone your children.” I smiled and was grateful for the approach to parenting I have learned from John. It is this: honor each person, child or adult, as a Soul who has come from God, and is here to learn.”

My favorite book is “The Blessings Already Are”. It has been a blessing as life has been especially difficult and painful. God meant for me to notice this book in January. The thoughts from John-Roger in the forward are also inspirational.
